At Nova Meda, we understand fishing not only as an economic activity, but as a shared responsibility towards the territory, the sea and future generations. For this reason, our commitment to the future of the fishing sector is built through active collaboration with fishermen’s guilds, sector organisations and bodies involved in the management and preservation of marine resources.
Working closely with the fishermen’s guilds of Palamós and other ports along the Costa Brava allows us to take part in initiatives that promote more responsible fishing, based on respect for closed seasons, established quotas and the use of selective fishing gear that minimises the impact on marine ecosystems.
Furthermore, we collaborate with organisations and projects that promote scientific knowledge, product traceability and awareness of the importance of consuming locally sourced, sustainably caught seafood. We firmly believe that cooperation between fishermen, scientists, public authorities and companies is essential to ensure the long-term viability of the sector.
At Nova Meda, we remain committed to a fishing model that combines tradition, innovation and responsibility, actively contributing to the preservation of Palamós’ fishing heritage and to securing a solid and sustainable future for our activity and the marine environment.
